face it: The fax machine is no longer going to be the centerpiece of anyone’s office. Faxing

fax machine on a daily basis, today’s business may only need the machine every once in a while
for particularly sensitive documents that can’t be sent via email.

When purchasing a fax machine, there are basically two options: You can go for one of those
multifunctional machines that can print, copy, and scan in addition to faxing. Some of these
machines are marvels of modern high-tech design, but are they really necessary? Sure, there are
some companies that still print, copy, and scan documents at high volumes, but most businesses
these days are working to cut back on paper usage with virtual databases and email. In the end,
unless you’re buying for a business that has intensive paper needs, a multifunction machine may
just be overkill.
The other option is to keep things simple and efficient. Canon inkjet fax machines are so small
that they can fit on a shelf or on a tiny corner of your desk. Just like the controls are basic and
straightforward, giving you just what you need and nothing more, and the machine is perfectly
reliable. It doesn’t have all the frills of an expensive multifunctional machine, but if all you
really need from a fax machine is to fax, why pay extra for the bells and whistles?

If you’re an independent businessperson, or if you run a small business with infrequent fax
needs, a simple Canon fax machine should be more than enough. There are several different
models—including the JX200 and
the JX-210P —that
weigh under 10 pounds, take up less than a cubic foot of space, and have everything that you
could expect from a modern fax machine.
Although these Canon Inkjet fax machines are simple, they’re not like the clunky Canon office
machines of old. They don’t malfunction every time you try to feed multiple pages in succession,
they don’t jam or get misaligned, and they don’t suddenly refuse to work for no apparent reason.
It’s actually been a few years since Canon machines were known for these things, and if you haven’t
had one in while, you might be surprised to find that these Canon fax machines actually work
great—and not just for a month or two, but for years.
Canon fax machine comes with a few bonus features that are useful
if you need them and unobtrusive if you don’t. For example, there’s a substantial memory capacity
that can hold up to 60 incoming pages in case you run out of paper. There’s an auto document feeder
that holds up to 20 sheets. And perhaps most useful, there’s a USB port that, along with the Canon
software that comes packaged, allows you to print and fax documents from your computer.
If you need to send a lot of faxes, or if you have several employees whose faxing needs
sometimes overlap, then these small Canon machines may not be the best choice. The canon laser fax
machines may work for that. But for occasional, basic faxing, the Canon machines are great, and the
price is incredible.
